“You Can’t Win an Argument With a Woman” – Mahama Shares Funny Story About His Marriage to Lordina

President John Dramani Mahama has left many people laughing after sharing a funny story about his marriage to First Lady Lordina Mahama.

Speaking during the Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God Men’s Ministry Day on Saturday, August 2, the President advised married men to avoid unnecessary arguments with their wives if they want peace at home.

Mahama said the lesson came during the celebration of their 30th wedding anniversary when he and Lordina visited a pastor after church.

According to him, Lordina jokingly told the pastor that their marriage had survived because of her patience.

“So at thirty years of marriage, we said happy anniversary. After church, we went to the pastor’s office and were talking about thirty years of marriage. Lordina said, ‘I have done well in this marriage. But for me, this marriage would have collapsed long ago. John, I have been patient with you. Without me, which woman would marry you?'” he recalled.

Mahama said he quickly responded by saying he was rather the patient one in the marriage.

He said they kept arguing until someone called him aside and advised him to stop because it was an argument he could never win.

“And I did,” he said as the congregation burst into laughter.

The President said he remembered that advice during another wedding anniversary.

This time, when Lordina again praised herself for making the marriage work, he decided not to argue.

Instead, he simply thanked her.

“I said, ‘It’s true, you made this marriage work. Thank you, Lordina, and God bless you,'” Mahama said, adding that his wife looked at him in surprise.

Using his own marriage as an example, the President encouraged couples to respect each other and always choose peace over unnecessary arguments.

He added that there are times he even apologises to his wife, even when he believes he has done nothing wrong, just to keep peace in the home.

Mahama’s funny marriage story has since gone viral on social media, with many Ghanaians praising his honesty while others shared their own experiences about marriage.
