MJ Rock and Yeboah Agyekum Francis Clash on TikTok Over Health Advice

Ghanaian nurse and TikTok content creator MJ Rock has come under heavy criticism after calling out health educator Yeboah Agyekum Francis (a biomedical scientist, and a self-taught trichologist) over a video he shared on TikTok.

The issue started after a Ghanaian woman reportedly passed away shortly after celebrating Ghana’s victory over Panama. Following the incident, Yeboah Agyekum Francis made a video to educate football fans, especially those living with high blood pressure.

In the video, he advised people with high blood pressure to take their medications before watching football matches and to follow the instructions given by their doctors. He also advised fans not to over-celebrate when their team scores.

According to him, shouting too much and becoming overly excited can be dangerous for some people with health conditions. He also took the opportunity to teach CPR and explain what people can do during emergencies to help save lives.

The video gained attention on TikTok and was shared by many people.

However, MJ Rock was not happy with some of the advice.

Speaking during a TikTok Live session, she questioned Yeboah Agyekum Francis’ comments about blood pressure medications.

“You are saying people on high blood pressure should take their medications. Do you know most pressure medications are on diuretics? Do you know what diuretics do?” she asked.

She continued by saying Yeboah Agyekum Francis made the advice too general.

“You generalized it. You didn’t say if you are on anti-diuretic. See, that is the problem. Because you don’t practice, you don’t know,” she said.

MJ Rock, who is known for creating health-related content on TikTok, especially on sex education and infections, also accused Yeboah Agyekum Francis of being interested in money.

“Yeboah Agyekum is looking for your money more than everything. I’m telling you point blank,” she said during the live session.

Yeboah Agyekum Francis later responded after seeing clips from the live video.

According to him, if MJ Rock believed there was something wrong with his video, she could have contacted him directly instead of attacking him on social media.

He said there were many ways she could have reached out to him so he could review the information and, if necessary, make another video to explain or correct it.

Yeboah Agyekum Francis also suggested that MJ Rock’s actions were aimed at bringing him down.

“Sister, if you have been paid to do so, return the money. Else Ghanaians will attack you,” he said.

Shortly after his response, many of his followers started attacking MJ Rock on social media. Some people also began unfollowing her.

Supporters of Yeboah Agyekum Francis said his health videos have helped many people over the years. They believe his teachings are helping people and saving lives, and for that reason they will not sit back and watch anyone pull him down.
